Lina Gumbiene MD, PhD, FESC
Lina Gumbiene, MD, PhD, is a Consultant cardiologist, Assoc. professor and Senior researcher at the Clinic of Cardiovascular Diseases of Vilnius University, where she has been a lecturer and a researcher for over 20 years. Dr. Gumbiene began as a pediatric cardiologist at the Centre of Cardiothoracic surgery in 1999, and shortly after becoming a cardiologist in 2004, was appointed the Head of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Subunit of the Centre of Cardiology and Angiology. She was Head of the Pulmonary Hypertension Referral Center at Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Kinikos for 7 years and has been a member or the Head of the Scientific and Organizing Committees of Lithuanian and Baltic conferences on PH, ACHD and cardiac diseases during pregnancy. Currently, Dr. Gumbiene is an active member of the Lithuanian Society of Cardiology and Chair of the Pulmonary Hypertension and ACHD Working Group, as well as a member of the European Society of Cardiology.
The main fields of interest for Dr. Gumbiene are ACHD and PH epidemiology as well as management, rehabilitation in PH, arrhythmias in congenital heart diseases, high-risk pregnancies, PFO and stroke in the young, aorthopathies.
