Olivier Sitbon, MD, PhD

Olivier Sitbon, MD, PhD, is Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Paris-Saclay University and consultant at the French Referral Center for Pulmonary Hypertension (PH), Department of Respiratory and Intensive Care Medicine, Bicêtre University Hospital in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, France.

Dr. Sitbon has conducted extensive research into pulmonary hypertension and heads the French Registry collecting data on patients with the condition. His investigational activities include clinical studies on factors associated with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), prognostic factors, risk stratification and treatment goals in PAH, and the development of new strategies for the treatment of PAH. He also leads a team examining medical and surgical

therapeutic innovations in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) for an INSERM Research Unit.

Following his medical education at Université Paris V and residency, Dr. Sitbon completed a postdoctoral fellowship at INSERM U651, Université Paris XII, Créteil. He earned his PhD from Université Paris-Sud. Dr. Sitbon co-chaired the Working Group on Trial Design & New Therapies for PAH at the 6th World Symposium on PH in 2018. He has authored more than

330 peer-reviewed articles on PH and related topics, and has lectured internationally on PAH and related subjects.
